so angle A = angle C. and angle B = angle D

3x-20 = x+40

3x-x = 40+20

2x = 60

x = 60/2

x = 30

angle A = 3x-20 = 3×30-20 = 90-20 = 70

angle C = 70

A+B+C+D = 360

70+70+y+15+y+15 = 360

170 + 2y = 360

2y = 360-170

y = 90/2

y = 45

angle B = y+15 = 45+15 = 60

angle D = 60
