Given :  In a parallelogram ABCD side AB = 16cm, side BC = 10cm.

An altitude DM on AB is 4cm.

To Find : The length of altitude DN on BC.

Solution:

Area of Parallelogram = Base * height

=>

Area of Parallelogram = AB x DM

or

Area of Parallelogram = BC  x DN

Equating Area

BC  x DN = AB x DM

=> 10 x DN = 16 x 4

=> DN = 6.4

length of altitude DN on BC. = 6.4 cm
