Parallelogram (Interior Angles)

  • Given: the adjacent angles are in the ratio 1 : 4

  • To find: the sum of all the interor angels of the parallelogram

Solution:

Here the ratio of adjacent angles is 1 : 4

Let the angles be x, 4x.

We know that, the sum of the adjacent angles of a parallel is 180°.

Then, x + 4x = 180°

or, 5x = 180°

or, x = 36°

So the adjacent angles are 36° and (4 × 36°) = 144°.

Therefore the sum of the interior angles of the parallelogram is

= 2 × (36° + 144°)

= 2 × 180°

= 360°

  • Answer: the sum of all its interior angles is 360°.
