Given :

Length = 20m

Breadth = 15 m

Width of flowerbed = 1m

cost of manuring at the rate of ₹45/m sq.

To find :

total cost of manuring for the flower bed at the rate of Rs 45 per m square.

Solution :

Given,

Dimension of given park = ( 20 m × 15 m )

Width of flowerbed = 1 m

From the fig. FG = BC - 1 m = ( 15 m - 1 m ) = 14 m

EF = DC - 1 = ( 20 m - 1 m ) = 19 m

Henceforth,

⟹ Area of flowerbed = Area of rect. ABCD

⟹ AD × DC - EF × FG

⟹ 15 × 20 - 19 × 14

⟹ 300 - 266

$= \rm \: {34\: m}^{2}$

Cost of manuring 1m sq. space = ₹ 45

Therefore,

Cost of manuring 34m sq. space = 34 × ₹ 45

$\therefore$ ₹ 1530 is the total cost.
