By crossing with one more same coloured plant . If it is hybrid then the recessive character will be show in their offspring and if it is pure then we will get same offsprings.

Performing a test cross

Explanation:

A pure breed refers to an organism that has the homozygous or both the alleles in the same state that is either recessive or dominant.

To know if a trait is dominant or the plant is a pure breed with a dominant trait, it must be crossed with the plant with its homozygous recessive trait. This cross is known as the test cross.

The purple flower is a dominant trait (WW) and the white flower is a recessive trait (ww)

If a cross is made between WW x ww

                  W       W

         w    Ww    Ww

         w    Ww    Ww

We will have all purple flower plants.

Thus, purple color is a a dominant trait.
