Given : 3 women can do the same work as 5 men or 6 children .  the volunteers include 8 women, 10 men and 14 children, and the project is expected to last for 7 weeks.

To find :  if After two weeks, they get joined by 5 men, 8 women and 6 children. How much further time will be required

Solution:

Lets say 1 Days work  of

3 Women Work  = 5 Men Work  = 6 Children Work   = 30A

=> 1 women work  = 10A

    1 Man Work   = 6A

    1 Children work = 5A

8 women, 10 men and 14 children  1 Day work  = 8*10A + 10*6A + 14*5A

= 80A + 60A + 70A

= 210A

project is expected to last for 7 weeks.  = 7 * 7 = 49 Days

Total Work  = 210 A * 49  = 210 * 49 A

Work Done in 2 Weeks = 210 * 14  A

Remaining Work  = 210A(49 - 14)

= 210A * 35

5 men, 8 women and 6 children. joined

=> 16 women 15 men & 20 Children

1 Day work = 16 * 10A + 15*6A + 20*5A

= 160A + 90A + 100A

= 350A

Numbers of Days required  = 210A * 35 / 350 A

= 21

= 3 Weeks

3 Weeks further time will be required
