Pentagon = 5 sided polygon

Find the sum of the interior angles:

Sum of interior angles = ( n - 2 ) x 180 where n is the number of sides

Sum of interior angles of a pentagon = (5 - 2 ) x 180 = 540°

Find the sum of the three angles:

Sum of the 3 angles = 540 - 40 - 60 = 440º

Define x:

Ratio of Angle 1 : Angle 2 : Angle 3 = 1 : 3 : 7

Let x be the constant ratio

Ratio of Angle 1 : Angle 2 : Angle 3 = 1x : 3x : 7x

Solve x:

x + 3x + 7x = 440

11x = 440

x = 40

Find the biggest angles:

7x = 7(40) = 280º

Answer: The biggest angle is 280º
