In a periodic table :(1) how does the tendency to gain electrons change in a period?(2) how does the tendency to form basic oxide change down a group?(3) how does the valency of elements vary on going down the group ?

1.The tendency to gain electrons increases as we move towards the right in a period as they become more nonmetallic which is electropositive in nature.
2.as we Go down a group elements become more metallic and metals form basic oxides.therefore it increases.
3.valency remain same in a group.
