In a pet store, there are 6 kittens, 4 gerbils, 7 canaries, and 9 puppies. . If a pet is chosen at random, what is the probability of choosing a puppy or a canary?

So, Probability of choosing a puppy or a canary = probability of choosing a puppy  + probability of choosing a canary

= Puppy/Total + Canary/Total

= 9/26 + 7/26

= 16/26

= 8/13 probability or 61.53%.
