In a physics numerical when we are given some sign conventions and asked to draw ray diagrams how we have to draw? For eg: if given its concave mirror f = -12 u = -16 draw a ray diagram......... how to draw??

In this type of questions we are given sign for the following:

For left of the mirror or lens we are given negative sign and for right of the mirror or lens we are given positive

Thus we use sign for only numericals and not for diagram because for diagram we use either left or right
