In a potentiometer arrangement for determining the internal resistance of a cell,the balance point of the cell in open circuit is 350 cm. Whwn a resistance of 9 ohm is used in the external circuit of the cell, the balanced point shift to 300 cm . Determine the internal resistance of the cell.

° L1 = initial balancing length

° L2= final balancing length

° Now apply formula,

° r = (L1-L2)/L2 × R

° r = (350-300)/300 ×9

° ✓ r = 1.5 ohm
