In a primary school,the parents were asked about the number of hours they spend per day in helping their children to do homework.There were 90 parents who helped for 1/2 hour to 3/2 hours.The distribution of parents according to the time for which,they said they helped is given in the adjoining figure;20% helped for more than 3/2 hours per day;30%
helped for 1/2 hour to 3/2
hours;50% did not help at all.

Using this,answer the following:

let the total number of parents be X
30% of X helped for 1/2 hour to 3/2 hour
total 90 parents helped for 1/2 hour to 3/2 hour
thus 30%of X = 90
30*X/100 = 90
X = 300
thus 1) total surveyed parents = 300
2) 50% of 300 parents do not help = 50*300/100= 150
3) 20% helped for more than 3/2 hour = 20*300/100 = 60
