Given :-

  • In a proportion the first , second and third terms are 34 , 51 and 36 , respectively.

To Find :-

  • Fourth term.

Solution :-

If the four terms are in proportion a : b : c : d,

.°. a/b = c/d

Where,

  • First term (a) = 34
  • Second term (b) = 51
  • Third term (c) = 36
  • Fourth term (d) = ?

[ Putting values ]

↪ 34/51 = 36/d

↪ 34d = 51 × 36

↪ 34d = 1836

↪ d = 1836/34

d = 54

Hence,

  • The fourth term is 54.

\sf\red{Question:}

In a proportion the first , second and third terms are 34 , 51 and 36 , respectively . Find the fourth term.

\sf\red{\underline{\underline{Given:-}}}  \sf First,second,third~ terms~ are~ in ~proportion~ 34,~51,~36~ respectively

\sf\red{\underline{\underline{To~find:-}}} \sf Fourth~term

\sf\red{\underline{\underline{Solution:-}}}   \sf  Four~ terms~ are~ in ~proportion ~a:b:c:d,\\ \\ \sf Therefore, ~\dfrac{a}{b}=\dfrac{c}{d} \\ \\ \rm First ~term~(a) =34 \\ \\ \rm second~term(b)= 51 \\ \\ \rm Third~term(c)=36  \\ \\ \rm Fourth~term(d)= d \\ \\ \bold Putting~the~values : \\ \\ \rm \dfrac {34}{51}= \dfrac{36}{d} \\ \\ \implies 34d=51 \times {36} \\ \\ \implies 34d= 1836 \\ \\ \implies d=\frac{1836}{34}\\ \\ \implies D= 54

\bold\green{Hence,~D= 54}
