Given that : In a public examination 90% students passed.

So, the percentage of failed students : 100-90 = 10%

Also given that : 8800 students failed

Now, total students appeared in the exams :

 \frac{8800 \times 100}{10}  = 88000

Thus, 88000 students appeared in the exam.

Now, number of the passing students :

88000 \times  \frac{90}{100}  = 79200

Thus, 79200 students passed in the examination.

Question :-

In a public examination 90% studwnts passwd and 8800 students failed . How many students failed and how many passed?

Answer :-

Let the number of students passed be 'x'

Given , The percentage of students passed = 90%

Now, number of students failed = 100% - 90% = 10%

Now, According to the question

 \bold{ \frac{10}{100}x  = 8800}

 \bold{ \implies{x =  \frac{8800 \times 100}{10}} }

 \bold{ \implies{x = 88000}}

Therefore, the number of students passed are 88000
