Given:

In a public transport bus, 52% of the passengers are males and are 26 in number.

Rest are females

To find:

The number of passengers travelling in the bus

Solution:

Let "x" represent the total number of passengers travelling in the bus.

So, we have

No. of males = 52% of the total passengers = 52\% \:of\: x

But, the no. of males are given to be 26.

Therefore, we can form an equation as:

52\%\:of \:x = 26

\implies \frac{52}{100}\times  \:x = 26

\implies x = \frac{26 \times 100}{52}

\implies x = \frac{2600}{52}

dividing both numerator and denominator by 13

\implies x = \frac{200}{4}

\implies \bold{x = 50}

Thus, the number of passengers travelling in the bus is → 50.
