In a quadrilateral If we say that AB parallel CD then it is a parallelogram or we have to also show the side AB and CD equal

So, your question is that whether we have to prove opposite pairs in quadrilateral equal and parallel to prove it a ||gm or just proving opposite side parallel is enough?

So, answer of your question is in following points :-

1. In order to prove a quadrilateral a parallelograms either prove 2 pairs of opposite sides parallel.

2. Or prove 1 pair of opposite side parallel as well as equal

If you want to prove only one opposite pair criteria then you must prove them equal as well as parallel because proving them only parallel will not show that it is a parallelogram since trapezium also have 1 pair of parallel sides.
