70% of the questions were answered.
Remaining 30% unanswered.
This 30% is equal to those 6 questions.
30%==6
1% == 6/30 = 0.2
100%==0.2*100 = 20 questions
Total number of questions = 20.
Hope it helps.

number of questions he failed to answer=6

percentage of questions he failed to answer=30%(100%-70%)

30%=6

let the total number of questions asked in the quiz competition

be x.

 \huge \bold \purple{ 30\% \: of \: x = 6}

 \frac{30}{100}  \times x = 6

 \frac{3}{10}  \times x = 6 \\  \implies \: x = 6 \times  \frac{10}{3}

 \implies x = 2 \times 10 \\  \implies x = 20
