In a race, if Shahid gives Saif a start of 100 metres, Shahid wins by 30 sec. If he gives Saif a start of 150 metres, he still wins but by 15 sec. Find Saif's speed (in m/min).

Let shahid be x and Saif be y then

x and y are equal because they are directly related they travel in same speed

x travelled 100 m and y finished in 30sec

x increased by half of it and y decreased by half of it by this we can conclude they are travelling in same speed

so y = speed = 100/30s

= 100/0.5 ( 30/60 = 1/2 =0.5)

= 200m/min

therefore; Saif's speed = 200m/min
