In a reaction, 10.6 g of Sodium carbonate reacted with 12 g of ethanoic acid. The products

were 4.4 g of carbon dioxide, 1.8 g of water and 16.4 g of Sodium ethanoate . Show that

these observations are in agreement with law of conservation of mass.

explanation:mass of reactents=mass of product

10.6+12=4.4+1.8+16.4

22.6=22.6

hence proved

Mass of reactants =5.3+6=11.3 gm

Mass of products =2.2+0.9+8.2=11.3 gm

This shows, that during a chemical reaction, the mass of reactant = mass of the product.

Hence, it shows the law of conservation of mass.
