In a reaction between aluminium and oxygen atomic number of Aluminium is 13 it gives 3 electrons to attain neon gas configuration and oxygen takes 2 electrons to attain neon gas configuration where does one electron of aluminium goes if aluminium and oxygen chemically react to form Aluminium oxide.

actually two atoms of Al react with 3 atoms of o as can be seen in the formula of aluminium oxide i.e. al2o3

so 2al give 6e which r taken by 3 o and hence all attain Nobel gas configuration
