Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the no. of female members be x.

So, the no. of male members is (180-x).

According to question;

(180-x)=x+40%of x.

(180-x)=x+40/100*x.

(180-x)=x+2x/5.

Take 5 as LCM in Left Hand Side;

(180-x)=(5x+2x)/5.

(180-x)=7x/5.

Transfer 5 from RHS to LHS;

900-5x=7x.

Transfer -5x from LHS to RHS;(It will become positive)

900=7x+5x.

900=12x.

x=900/12.

x=75.

So, female members = 75.

Male members = 180-75.

= 105.
