Let the breadth be x and the length be y .
Original area =x.y
Now
length=y+5
breadth=x-5
Area=x.y-40 or x-5 × y+5
xy-40=(x-5)(y+5)
xy-40=xy+5x-5y-25
5y-5x=15
y-x=3
y=3+x
length=y-2
breadth=x+4
Area=xy92 or (x+4)(y-2)
xy+92=(x+4)(y-2)
xy+92=xy-2x+4y-8
84=4y-2x
2y=42+x
y=(42+x)÷2
3+x=(42+x)÷2
6+2x=42+x
x=42-6
x=36
y=39
Therefore length is 39cm and breadth is 36cm.
