length of rectangular ground = 40 m

breadth/width of the rectangular ground = 30 m

width of lawn that has to be grown on all the 4 sides = 2 m

Area of the field= length * breadth

                          = 40 * 30

                         =1200 sq.m

length of the lawn and the field = 40 m + 2 m + 2 m = 44 m

breadth  of the lawn and the field = 30 m + 2 m + 2 m = 34 m

Area of the field and the lawn = length * breadth

                                                 = 44 * 34

                                                = 1496 sq.m

Area of the lawn = 1496 sq.m - 1200 sq.m= 296 sq.m

the cost of growing the lawn = 296 sq.m * 20 rupees = 5920 rupees
