DQ:QE is 2:1

Given a regular pentagon. That is, all sides are equal. Now, the perpendicular drawn from A that will meet DE at Q.

DC can be extended till it meets the extended AE at say, P. Now, join the points A and D to get diagonal AD.

Now, we got a triangle PED. This triangle is isosceles as both angle PDE and Angle PED are same.

Similarly, triangle PAD is also isosceles.

This makes DE the altitude of the triangle and AQ its median.

As median divides altitude in the ratio 2:1, QD:QE is also 2:1.
