Solution:

Given:-

Fundamental Frequency , f = 480 Hz

Diameter , d = 5 cm = 0.05 m

Radius , r = 5/2 cm = 2.5 cm = 0.025 m

Minimum length of air column , l₁ = 16 cm = 0.16 m

Fundamental frequency => f = \frac{v}{4(l + 0.6r)}

Speed of sound , v = 4f (l + 0.6r)

v = 4 * 480 [ (0.16) + (0.6)(0.025)]

v = 1920 [ (0.16) + (0.015)]

v = 1920 * 0.175

v = 336 m/s

Speed of sound in air at room temperature will be 336 m/s.
