Answer :-

  • Perpendicular = x = √5 cm.
  • Base = 2x = 2√5 cm.

Explanation :-

Given :

  • Length of Base is double of perpendicular.
  • Hypotenuse is 5√5 cm.

To Find :

  • Length of Base and Perpendicular.

Solution :

Let the Perpendicular be x.

According to the Question,

Length of Base = 2x.

We will use Pythagoras theorem here.

Formula :-

H² = P² + B²

Here,

H = Hypotenuse.

P = Perpendicular.

B = Base.

Substitute the Values.

⇢ H² = x² + (2x)²

⇢ H² = x² + 4x²

⇢ H² = 5x²

⇢ 5x = H.

⇢ x = H ÷ 5.

(H = 5√5 cm).

⇢ x = 5√5 ÷ 5.

x = √5.

Therefore,

  • Perpendicular = x = √5 cm.
  • Base = 2x = 2√5 cm.
