Answer :

15cm.

Explanation :

In a right angled triangle ABC,

Length of AC & AB is 17cm and 8cm respectively.

And the right angle i.e., 90° is angle B.

Find the length of BC.

We know that,

The opposite side of the right angle is hypotenuse i.e., AC - 17cm.

By Pythagoras theorem :

→ AC² = AB² + BC²

Substitute the given values :

→ 17² = 8² + BC²

→ 289 = 64 + BC²

→ 289 - 64 = BC²

→ 225 = BC²

→ √225 = BC

→ 15 = BC.

Length of BC is 15cm.

Given:-

  • ABC is a right angles triangle in which angle B is right angle.
  • Length of angle AB is 8 cm.
  • Length of angle AC is 17 cm.

To Find:-

  • Length of BC?

Solution:-

According to Pythagoras theorem:-

\large\dag{ \boxed{ \underline{ \tt { \blue{AC² = AB² + BC²}}}}}

Now, value of BC:-

  • 17² = 8² + BC²
  • 289 = 64 + BC²
  • BC² = 289 - 64
  • BC² = 225
  • BC = √225
  • BC = 15

 \large\dag{ \boxed{ \underline{ \tt { \red{ \therefore \: Length \: of\: BC \: is \:15 \: cm}}}}}
