Given :

  • Base of the triangle (B) = 5 cm
  • Perpendicular (P) = 3 cm

To find :

  • Length of the hypotenuse (H)

Solution :

We know that if we are given the base of a right triangle and height (perpendicular) of the right triangle we can use Pythagoras' Theorem to find the hypotenuse of the right triangle.

\boxed{\sf{B^2 + P^2=H^2}}

5² + 3² = H²

25 + 9 = H²

34 = H²

H² = 34

H = \sqrt{34}

⇒ H = 5.83 (approximately)

•°• the length of the hypotenuse is 5.83 cm
