In a right triangle longest side is always the hypotenuse of the triangle.
By pythogoras theorem the sum of square of two sides are equal to the square of hypotenuse side.
We take :-
HYPOTENUSE side = BC
First side = AB = 4.5
Second side = AC = 6
By pythogoras theorem :-
AB^2 + AC^2 = BC^2
4.5^2 + 6^2 = BC^2
20.25 + 36 = BC^2
56.25 = BC^2
root56.25 = BC
7.5 = BC
Hence,
Length of the longest side is 7.5 cm
