Solution :

In ∆PAR, <Q = 90° ,

By Pythagoras Theorem,

${PQ}^{2} + {QR}^{2} = {PR}^{2}$

${8}^{2} + {x}^{2} = {10}^{2} \\ 64 + {x}^{2} = 100 \\ {x}^{2} = 100 - 64 \\ {x}^{2} = 36 \\ x = \sqrt{36} \\ x = 6$
