Given:

  • ABC is a right angled triangle.

  • <B=90°

  • AB=5cm

  • AC=13cm

To Find:

  • BC=?

Solution:

It is given that ABC is a right angled triangle.

Therefore,

By Pythagoras therom,

(AC) ²=(AB) ²+(BC) ²

(13)²=(5) ²+(BC) ²

169=25+(BC) ²

(BC) ²=169-25

(BC) ²=144

BC=12 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

AB^2+AC^2=BC^2

5^2+AC^2=13^2

25 +AC^2=169

AC^2=169-25

AC^2=144

AC=√144

AC=12
