by using pythagoras theorem :-

given sides are 2.5 m and 6 m

as we have to find the hypotenuse of the triangle :

(hypotenuse)^2=(base)^2+ (perpendicular)^2

let the hypotenuse x.

x^2=(2.5m)^2+(6m)^2

x^2=6.25m^2+36m^2

x^2=42.25m^2

x=√42.25 m^2

x=6.5m

so the length of the hypotenuse is 6.5 m
