In a right triangle PQR, if PQ = 6cm, QR = 6√3cm and Q= 90, find the length of PR.

(i) Given:

PQ = 8 cm

QR = 6 cm

PR = ?

∠PQR = 90°

According to Pythagoras Theorem,

PQ^2+QR^2  \: PR2 \: =PQ2 \: + \: QR2

8^2+6^2 \: PR2 \: =82 \: + \: 62

4+36 \: PR2 \: =64+36

PR2=100

∴PR \: =root100 \: = \: 10 cm
