Selling price = Rupees 42.00

Cost price = x

Profit = (5/100) x

Therefore 42 – x = (5/100) x

                42 = 5x/100 + x

                42 = 105x/100

                4200/105 = x

                x = 40

Hence Cost price of the soap pack is Rupees 40.00
