\bf\large\underline\green{Solution:-}

Let the total number be students in school be X.

Number of present students = 720

and,

Number of absent students = 1/25 of total = 1/25 X = X/25

Therefore,

Number on present students + Number or absent students = Total number of students

720 + X/25 = X

18000 + X/25 = X

18000 + X = 25X

25X - X = 18000

24X = 18000

X = 18000/24

X = 750

Total Number of students = X = 750

Let the total number of students be x

1/25 of the students were absent of the total students =X/25

According to the question

 \frac{x}{25}  + 720 = x \\  \frac{x + 18000}{25}  = x \\ x + 18000 = 25x \\ 18000 =  25x - x \\ 18000 = 24x \\ 24x = 18000 \\ x =  \frac{18000}{24}  \\ x = 750

Total students= 750
