In a school 3/7 of students are girls .if there are 240 boys find the number of girls

Let the total no. of students be x

Total no. of boys = 240

Total no. of girls = 3/7 × x

No. of boys+no. of girls = no. of students

240 + 3x/7 = x

240 = x-3x/7

240 = 4x/7

240×7 = 4x

1,680/4 = x

420 = x

we know that,

No. of boys+no. of girls = no. of students

240 + no. of girls = 420

no. of girls = 420-240

no. of girls = 180
