So, we can form an equation as:

$\frac{5x}{9} = 775$

$\implies 5x = 775 \times 9$

$\implies 5x = 6975$

$\implies x = \frac{6975}{5}$

$\implies\bold{ x = 1395}$

∴ No. of boys = 1395 - 775 = 620

Thus, the number of boys in school is 620.
