Given:

In a school, 4/9 of the students are boys and the number of girls is 775

To find:

The number of boys in the school

Solution:

Let "x" be the total no. of students.

So,

No. of boys are = \frac{4x}{9}

∴ The number of girls in the school = x - \frac{4x}{9} = \frac{9x - 4x}{9} = \frac{5x}{9}

But we are given that the number of girls in the school is 775.

So, we can form an equation as:

\frac{5x}{9} = 775

\implies 5x = 775 \times 9

\implies 5x = 6975

\implies x = \frac{6975}{5}

\implies\bold{ x = 1395}

∴ No. of boys = 1395 - 775 = 620

Thus, the number of boys in school is 620.
