In a School, 5/8 of the total students are girls. If the number of girls is 120 more than that of the boys, what is the strength of the school? How many boys are there?

Let Total number of students = x
So,

number \: of \: girls \:  =  \frac{5x}{8}
number \: of \: boys = (1 -  \frac{5}{8}) x =  \frac{3x}{8}
given,
 \frac{3x}{8} \:  + 120 =  \frac{5x}{8}
 =  >  \:  \:  \:  \frac{2x}{8}  = 120
x = 120×4 = 480

number of boys = (480×3)/8 = 180
