let x be boys then girls is 120+x
now.total students is 120+2x
so.5/8(120+2x)=120+x
5(120+2x)=8(120+x)
600+10x=960+8x
10x-8x=960-600
2x=360
x=360/2=180.
thus no. of boys is 180.
