In a school 8 out of 24 children from section a and 6 out of 30 children from section b secured more than 80 percentage marks in class 10th board exam .which section had performed better?

Given,

8/24 children -section A - more than 80%

6/30 children -section B - more than 80%

We have to find out which section had performed better.

Let's out the percentage of children scoring more than 80% marks in section A and B

  • SECTION - A

Total number of children in SectionA = 24

Number children got more than 80% = 8

Percentage of children =8/24×100= 33.3%

  • SECTION - B

Total number of children in SectionB = 30

Number children got more than 80% = 6

Percentage of children = 6/30 ×100 = 20%

Result : Section A had performed better because the percentage of section A is more in comparison to section B
