Let total number of student in school be x.

Number of girls = 45% of x

= 45/100 × x

Number of boys = 160 more than number of girls

= number of girls + 160

= 45x/100 + 160

Now, According to question,

⇒ 45x/100 + (45x/100 + 160) = x

⇒ 45x + 45x + 16000 = 100x

⇒ 16000 = 100x - 90x

⇒ 10x = 16000

⇒ x = 16000 / 10

⇒ x = 1600

Number of girls in school,

= 45% of x

= 45/100 × 16000

= 720
