In a school, number of girls is 70 more than the number of boys. If total number of students is 3450 then what will be the number of girls and boys?

GIVEN :-

• Total number of students in school = 3450
• number of girls = 70 more than boys

TO FIND :-

• Number of boys and girls.

SOLUTION :-

Let the no. of boys be x

NO. of girls = 70 + x

A.T.Q

⇒ x + 70 + x = 3450

⇒ 2x + 70 = 3450

⇒ 2x = 3450 - 70

⇒ 2x = 3380

⇒ x = 3380/2

⇒ x = 1690

⇒ Hence boys = x = 1690

⇒ girls = 70 + x = 1690 + 70 = 1760

VERIFICATION :-

⇒ Total students = Girls + boys

⇒ 3450 = 1690 + 1760

⇒ 3450 = 3450

L.H.S = R.H.S
