Answer:

1) initial no. of teachers = 80

2) no. of teachers who join the school = 4

explanation

by the given ratio

teachers / students   = 1/15

teachers/1200 = 1/15

teachers = 1/15 * 1200

     teachers = 80

let the no. of teachers who join the school after some time be x.

therefore

  (80+x)/1120 =  3/40

applying cross multiplication

40(80+x) = 1120*3

3200 + 40x =  3360

40x = 3360 - 3200

40x = 160

x = 4

Hope this helps!!!
