$3x + 10 = 2y \\ \\ 3x - 2y = - 10\: \: \: \: \: eq1$

One-third the number of students opting for NSS is equal to one-fifth the number of students opting for gardening

$\frac{x}{3} = \frac{y}{5} \\ \\ 5x - 3y = 0 \: \: \: \: \: eq2$
from eq 1 and eq2 ,solve for x and y,p it value of x from eq2 to eq1

$3( \frac{3y}{5}) - 2y = - 10 \\ \\ 9y - 10y = - 50 \\ \\ - y = - 50 \\ \\ y = 50 \\ \\ thus \\ \\ x = \frac{3 \times 50}{5} \\ \\ x = 30$

So,student opt for NSS are 30 and those who opt for gardening are 50.
