Option (B) i.e. Rs. 758 could be the average amount collected by a class in the school.

  • The average fund collected should lie in between of the maximum and the minimum funds collected by all the classes. Therefore the average fund should lie between Rs. 948 which is the maximum fund and Rs. 423 which is the minimum amount of fund collected.
  • Option (A), (D) do not lie in the range between Rs. 423 and Rs. 948, therefore they are incorrect.
  • Option (C) i.e. Rs. 948 is the maximum value and not the average one, the average value lies between maximum and minimum values but is never itself the maximum or minimum value, therefore this option should also be the incorrect one.
