In a school, the number of boys is 40 more than the number of girls. The total number of students is 540.

i) Write an equation for the given statement.

ii) Find the number of boys in that class.

iii) What is the number of girls in the class?

iv) What is the difference in the strength of boys and girls?​

number of girls = X

number of boys = X+40

total number of students = X+X+40= 540

X = 500÷2=250

number of girls =250

number of boys =250+40=290

in ratio boy:girl = 29:25
