Given :

Total number of students in the school = 50

Students passed the exam = 88%

Same number of boys and girls failed the exam..

Total girls = 42 %

To find :

Number of boys who passed the exam.

Solution :

88% of students passed.

→ percentage of students failed =

100 - 88 = 12%

12% of 50 =

\implies \dfrac{12}{100} \times 50

 \implies \dfrac{12}{2}

Therefore, students failed = 6 ..

Number of Girls failed = Number of boys failed = 3..

Percentage of boys in class =

100 % - percent of girls in class

= 100 - 42

= 58 %

58 % of 50 =

\implies \dfrac{58}{\cancel{100}} \times \cancel{50}

\implies \dfrac{58}{2} = \purple{29}

Number of boys passed = Total number of boys - Number of boys failed.

= 29 - 3

= 26..

Number of boys who passed the examination = 26.
