In a school there are 80% students passed in mathematics and 90% students passed in English. No one failed in both subject. If there are 210 students passed in both subject then find out how many students are there in the school?

Answer:

100% (all students who took the test).

Since 0% failed in both, then 100% students are to be discussed.

Since 90% passed in English, 85% passed in Math and 150 students passed in both

Then, failed in English = (100% - 90%) = 10%.

Failed in Math = (100% - 85%) = 15%.

So total % of students failed = failed in both subjects + failed in English + failed in Math = 0% + 10% + 15%

= 25%.

So passed in both subjects = 100% - 25% =75%.

Answer: In that exam 75% passed in both subjects.

75% of students = 150

100% of students = 150*100/75 = 200 students
