Answer:

The part of the total apples collected by the 4th scout is 3/8

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Abraham collects 5/18 of total apples

Leo collects 5/36 of total apples

Madhu collects 5/12 of total apples

Mahesh collect = ? of total apples

Solution : Apples collected by three scouts = 5/18 + 5/36 + 5/12

                Taking the LCM of 18,36 and 12 = 72

                                                                      = (5x4 + 5x2 + 5x3)/72

                                                                      =(20+10+15)/72

= 45/72 of the total apples

∴ The part of apples collected by the 4th scout = 1 - sum of three scouts

                                                                              = 1 - 45/72

                                                                              = (72-45)/72

                                                                              = 27/72

                                                                               = 3/8
