In a serve cold weather , a family burnt wood pieces in the room during the night by closing windows close after sometime they felt suffocated ? What did actually happen.

when they burn wood in closed room first of all windows were open so there was supply of oxygen so carbon dioxide was released later on when windows were closed there was no supply of oxygen continuously thus carbon monoxide was formed which is a suffocating gas........

in cold weather , a family burnt wood pieces in the room during the night by closing window close  after something they felt suffocated . this happened because burning needs oxygen . the room soon filled with carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide .
